About the Perlego LTI integration
The Perlego LTI integration allows instructors to deep link Perlego books to their courses so that students can easily access their reading. The integration also simplifies online access by seamlessly logging users into Perlego from the Learning Management System (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
We offer an LTI 1.3 tool supports the following systems:
How does the Perlego LTI 1.3 tool work?
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) is a standard developed by 1EdTech which allows for third party tools and courseware to be launched from within your LMS. Our LTI supports deep-linking within courses and modules.
- Instructors can use our book selector to add Perlego content into their courses.
- Learners can then click on the content links and they’ll be redirected to Perlego. If they already have an account they’ll be authenticated automatically through an ‘LTI handshake’.
What content can I link to?
You’ll be able to add deep links for any books that are available in your catalogue. You can search the catalogue when adding a new link using the book selector.
Currently, we only support linking the entire book. You cannot use the integration to link to specific chapters or pages. We do not integrate with assignments. We are always evolving our platform and releasing new features based on the needs of our customers. If you have ideas or suggestions on any developments that would be valuable to your organisation, feel free to submit them here. Read this article for more information on how to suggest new features.
Where can I link Perlego within my LMS?
Learning management systems offer many different placements. We support deep-linking of content within the course or module of your LMS.
The LTI integration may work in other placements, dependent on the LMS provider you use. For example, Perlego can be linked as a tool in ‘platform’ or ‘course navigation ‘for some LMS platforms but not others. Please refer to our provider set up guides for further information.
Importantly, all placements must open Perlego in a new tab. We do not support Perlego being opened in an embedded view as it would degrade the reading experience.
