Does Perlego support SAML?

Perlego supports SAML single sign-on through a defined set of identity providers only.

Currently, we support:

  • Azure AD

  • Okta

  • OpenAthens

  • Shibboleth

Each integration has been built and tested specifically against that provider’s documented SAML implementation. While SAML is a standard, identity providers differ in how they interpret and implement it. For this reason, Perlego does not support custom or unsupported SAML identity providers.

If your organisation uses a different IdP, you’re best optio is to configure it to authenticate via one of the supported providers above in order to use SAML with Perlego.

We use SAML. Can we connect our own Identity Provider to Perlego?

Not at this time.

Perlego supports SAML authentication only via Azure AD, Okta, OpenAthens, and Shibboleth.

Each of these integrations has been implemented according to the specific specifications and requirements of those providers. We don’t offer a generic SAML configuration or support custom-built or alternative SAML IdPs.

But our IdP is SAML-compliant — shouldn’t it work?

While SAML is a standard, providers implement it differently (attribute formats, bindings, metadata, signing behaviour, etc.). Supporting all possible SAML implementations would introduce security and support risks, so Perlego limits SAML support to the providers listed above.
